Girls all over the world would give up their bodies, minds, and souls to be a successful model. Some are what we would deem as lucky to get the opportunity others spend their lives trying to be noticed or get noticed by those who stand between the real world and the model world. Every girl has their favorite model; set on their looks or the brands they model for but up until today I just thought all of them were pretty but I didn’t have a favorite. Recently in the news a model has been working towards a platform for models and fashion leaders to come forward about their concerns and complaints of the modeling workforce. It is call The Model Alliance, it is in place to stop the terrible things that can and have happened to models in the past, just to get higher in the modeling world. It has child labor laws in place and all sorts of other things. It is needed just as much their as with any other job. Maybe since they have started trying to make a difference for up and coming models it will stem for the way they model all together. Helping young girls understand that being a model is not worth hurting yourself over or obsessing over. This alliance is a fresh start to protect models who are in the business and for those who aspire to be apart of the business. The media coverage on it would not have gone nearly as far if Coco Rocha herself wasn’t a huge advocate of the alliance. She has brought all the other famous models like Crystal Renn, Doutzen Kroes and Shalom Harlow together to help make this dream into a reality. And might I add has successfully done so. Coca Rocha is not only a gorgeous face but a genuine caring person. She is one who seems fully appreciative for what she has accomplished but also been granted. She seems down to earth and another one of the girls. I respect her desire for a better work environment and her humble nature. I didn’t noticed until today but she is the only model I follow on all my social media accounts. Last night I had a random dream that Coco was from Michigan and we discussed it over tea; so like any other girl I tweeted about it early this morning and to my surprise the fashion maven wrote me a direct message saying her husband was actually from Michigan. It was lovely to wake up to that message, not only because I’ve wanted to be a model my entire life (God did not see fit to bless me with height) but because it confirmed my suspicion that she was a sweet, down to earth girl. She didn’t have to write me back but she did and I appreciate it. So fellow fashion lovers if your looking for a model to follow I suggest Coco Rocha, she is not only a pretty face but a lovely human being and a credit to her profession. Coco if your ever in Monroe, Michigan tweet me, we will have tea!
